Account & Data Deletion for The Muslim Post
We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing you with control over your data. This page explains how to use our self-service tool to permanently delete your contributor account for The Muslim Post.
How to Delete Your Account
We provide a self-service option for all registered contributors to permanently delete their accounts.
Please follow these steps:
- Log in to your contributor account on The Muslim Post app or website (Login here).
- Navigate to your 'Profile' section (usually accessible via the profile icon in the header).
- Click on the 'Security' option within your profile navigation.
- Find and click the button labeled "Delete My Account" at the bottom of the Security section.
- Follow the on-screen prompts (including confirmation dialogs) to confirm the deletion.
Having Trouble Logging In?
If you have lost access to your account (e.g., forgotten password) and wish to request deletion, please email us from the address you registered with to: support@tmpnews.com
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
What Data is Deleted?
When your account is deleted, we will permanently remove the following personal information from our database:
- Your Name
- Your Email Address
- Your hashed (encrypted) password
- Any other personal details stored in your user profile (e.g., qualification, stored in the `profiles` table)
- If you have writer access in our app, all your posts will be deleted permanently (from the `posts` table).
Note: After deletion, your account cannot be recovered. All your personal data and associated posts will be permanently lost.
